Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a really cute summer nail art design. Palm trees! I thought I would change things up a bit and create coloured silhouettes.
We all know palm tree nails are perfect for summer, especially black silhouettes over a neon gradient. That was may intention when creating this design, although I thought it would be good to do something a little bit different.
I decided my colour palette would be blue, pink, orange, purple and green. I chose lighter shades of each colour and used that as the base. Then using a striper brush, I took darker shades of each colour and created the palm tree silhouette.
Start with the stem, then carefully create branches coming from one point on the stem. I like to make the leaves come from the underneath of each branch only, I don't create them on both sides of the branch.
Once that was dry, I added a layer of Seche Vite, it's so important to add a fast drying top coat before using a matte top coat. Going straight in with a matte top coat will emphasise any texture created by the design, and can also smudge your nail art. A fast dry top coat will smooth out this texture leaving an even layer, and will also protect your nail art, meaning the matte top coat won't come into contact with your design and smudge it. After the matte top coat you're done!
I think my favourite nail is my middle one, I love the contrast between the neon peach and the basic orange. I also love the pink nail!
Hope you enjoyed this cute summer design!
