Hi! Today I'm so excited to share some nail art. I've been painting my nails and drawing designs on them for years, it feels so great to actually share the nail art I love creating.
I chose to do a summer nail art design, although it is hard to believe that summer is coming closer with the freezing cold weather in England!
I love this design, the yellow and white stripes remind me of deck chairs at the beach! I tried to make the palm tree as realistic as I could, I didn't just want the silhouette. I used green and brown to create the effect of leaves and branches. Of course I had to add an accent glitter nail! I thought gold would tie everything together for a summer design.
To start off the design, I painted two coats a nude polish on my middle finger, and two coats of white on both my ring and pinky finger.
Once that was dry, I applied PVA glue around my middle finger to help with clean up, and then sponged on a blue polish to create the sea (or sky?)
Next I carefully created the stem of the tree by using a clean nail striper dipped into brown polish. I also blobbed some brown polish at the tip of my nail to create a base for the palm tree.
To create the branches, paint five lines onto your nail, each starting at the top of your original stem. Don't worry about making them perfect or evenly spaced.
After that, using a very light hand, create tiny lines coming off each branch to create leaves, I chose to make mine realistic, so I feathered the leaves out quite a bit. I then went in with green to create more realism.
For the ring and pinky finger, I simply took a thin nail art brush dipped into yellow polish, and carefully created a few lines then filled them in with colour. You could also use striping tape but I find the tape too messy.
