Red & Blue Ombre Stars | Nail Art
Wednesday, July 01, 2015
Hi, today I'm back with a cute patriotic design for the 4th July. I decided to create red and blue ombre stars on a white background.
In order to get the ombre effect, I used a stencil for this design. Chalkboard Nails has a really good post on how to create your own star stencils, I was inspired by her for this design!
I started with a small piece of thick black tape (masking tape), then using a small star shaped hole puncher I created the stars on the tape. Then simply place the stencil over the nails and use a sponge to dab on the gradient.
That's it! I love how striking this design is, it reminds me of nail stickers. You can create any shapes using the hole punch method, I found a cute dolphin shaped one!
Although this is a very patriotic design, you can change the colours and make it perfect for any season!
